Group projects needing participation:

Lasagna Love

  • 1 - 3:00 pm
  • 6 spots
  • Prepare 6 lasagnas for Healing House in the church kitchen with a small group. Ingredients will be provided.

A Turning Point Food Pantry

  • 8 - 10:30 am
  • 10 spots
  • Must be 12+ years old

Literacy KC

  • 1 pm - 3 pm (Note time change, previously 9-1)
  • 15 spots
  • We will be painting offices for the Literacy KC program. Lunch will be served and supplies provided. Family friendly project.
  • We will also collect new and gently used children's and young adult books for the "Let's Read" program. Books will be collected from February 20 - March 5.

Valor Ranch

  • 9 am - 12 pm
  • 8 spots
  • We will assemble metal shelving units and organize clothing donations and supplies for Valor Ranch. Family friendly project.

Camp Wilderness Work Day

  • 9 am - 2 pm
  • 15 spots
  • Projects will be weather dependent and could include trail clean-up, cabin inventory and cleaning. Lunch will be served and supplies provided.
  • Family friendly project.

Eastern Ave Clean-Up

  • 9 am - 12 pm - 6 spots
  • 12 pm - 3 pm - 6 spots
  • Help with litter pick-up on Eastern Ave from 291 to 108th St
  • Family friendly project with morning shift & afternoon shift available.

Assemble Paper Product Packs

  • 1 - 3 pm
  • 6 spots
  • We will assemble paper product packs at North Star Church for Festival of Sharing with donated items.

At-Home / Individual Project Ideas:

  • Provide baked goods for police or fire stations
  • Make cards for school teachers and staff for Rising Stars
Donate items toward our group projects! Please bring items to North Star before March 5th:
  • For Literacy KC -
    • new & gently used kids books (picture books, early readers, young adult & bilingual books)
  • For Paper Product Packs for Festival of Sharing –
    • Facial tissue (large rectangle boxes)
    • Paper towels (good quality)
    • Toilet paper (packages of 4 or 6)
