It Happens: Trusting God When We Are in It

Life doesn't always unfold the way we hope. We all experience seasons of fire and storms that threaten to overwhelm us, wilderness moments where God seems distant, and lion's den situations that leave us feeling trapped and afraid. The question isn't if difficult times will come—it is how we will respond when they do. Following Jesus does not make us immune to any of it. It happens to all of us. Following Jesus means we have a way through it and a hope while we are in it when it happens. Throughout Scripture, we discover that God rarely promises to keep His people out of hardship. Instead, He promises to be with them in the midst of it. This series will draw on biblical stories of people who are “in it” and finding courage, hope, and unwavering faith in the middle of life's greatest challenges. Rather than asking, "How can I avoid difficult seasons?" we'll learn to ask, "How can I experience God's presence, peace, and purpose while I'm in them?"

No matter what you're facing today, God has not abandoned you. He is present in the fire, faithful in the storm, powerful in the den, and guiding you through the wilderness. When life happens, we can trust the One who has promised, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
